Jamaican Banana Bread


  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 3 ripe bananas (mashed)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla


  1. Cream shortening, sugar,& salt.
  2. Add beaten eggs, flour, baking soda, banana,& vanilla.
  3. Grease pan, pour in batter, bake at 350 degrees F for 40-60 minutes or until done
  4. Serves : 8

Looks really good. I love banana bread. My neighbor is from Jamaica and she makes the best banana bread :)
